Adam W. Metzler

Currently, I am happily employed at M.S.A.D. #42 in Mars Hill, Maine and not looking for other employment opportunities. This site is a collection place for all of my professional experiences. I teach grades 5-12 instrumental music, run the pep band, and coach the varsity golf and volleyball teams. In addition to coaching, I am the districts Technology Director and the only on-site technology support person so I maintain all the school technology which includes repairs and working with staff.

I also advise the communications club and they DJ all the school dances. They also learn about other audio skills including how to podcast, create electronic music, live performance sound setups, studio recording, and anything else related to audio.

Professionally I play trumpet with a number of local groups including the Star City Syndicate, Northern Maine Chamber Society Orchestra, and the UMPI/Community Band.

What I Do

Instrumental Music Teacher

Certified in Maine to teach instrumental music to students in grades K-12. I have 15 years of experience teaching in the classroom and performance-based ensembles.

Conductor & Clinician

I have conducted a number of groups over the years ranging from elementary beginning bands all the way up to advanced community groups with professional musicians. I have also been lead clinics focused on brass instruments in a number of public school districts in New York and Maine.

Audio

I am able to set up and run a full sound system for a variety of events. Currently I run audio for our districts graduation ceremony, local cheering and gymnastic events, pageants, along with a number of other settings.

Technology Director

I have an extensive background in computer hardware and working with the major operating systems which include Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. I have set up and maintained district-wide wireless systems and maintained district web filters and email systems.

I have performed with numerous community groups and as a community soloist. I have been a part of brass quintets, concert bands, big bands, and Motown/oldies/contemporary bands. I have performed as a soloist in a number of churches and have been an active member in Buglers Across America that plays Taps at military funerals when needed.

Video & Live Streaming

I am able to record events using one video camera up to a multi-cam setup. I have live streamed a number of events to Facebook and YouTube. I have consulted with a number of schools and churches on how to set themselves up for video recording and live streaming.
